Who better to explain than Jon Carroll, San Francisco Chronicle columnist and winner of the National Association of Newspaper Columnists’ Ernie Pyle Award for Lifetime Achievement, whose wit and wisdom has endured since 1982.

Jon says of himself: “Notorious for cat columns…longevity a surprise to management and labor alike.” He also admits to being a cowardly world traveler and an ignorant gardener but is fully qualified to operate a stick shift. “Store in a warm, dry place. Rapier wit sold separately.”
