"The Art of Interviewing"

Her subject was interviewing, and she has done it all from phone to fax and email to face-to-face. For each type of interview, she gave concrete suggestions amply illustrated with wonderful stories from her own experience-including the interviewee who lived in such a remote part of the world that Sylvia could only reach it by helicopter. (At least she didn't have to fly it herself!)

Then, as an added treat, she went through her experience with her first e-book publication, a very exciting concept especially for those nonfiction or technical writers who are interested in an alternative to mainstream press. As always, Sylvia is on the cutting edge of publication options (maybe just a smidge behind Stephen King), but her common sense approach as well as her willingness to consider or try something new is an invaluable combination for all writers. So now all of you, who have never heard her and didn't join us on the 24th, may kick yourselves too.

Sylvia is a full-time writer and instructor. She has taught at the College of Marin and Santa Rosa Junior College and not only travels to address small business groups and craft guilds, but also writes an interview column for the National Quilting Guild of America. Her freelance articles have appeared in 41 magazines and she writes craft how-to books. In her spare time, she also develops original craft designs. Visit her website at www.sylvias-studio.com.
