"What Every Writer Should Know About Copyright and Publishing"

Attorney Peter Franck will talk about a range of legal issues affecting both fiction and non-fiction writers as well as answer your questions. His focus will be on copyright, the “fair use” doctrine, internet issues as well as marketing and syndication agreements. Peter will also talk briefly about the respective roles of lawyers and agents.

With law offices in both San Francisco and San Rafael, his practice encompasses contracts, copyrights, permissions, licenses, service and talent agreements, insurance coverage, business entity formation, and other more.

Just to intrigue you a bit, Peter Franck served as a legal advisor to Mario Savio and student members of the Free Speech Movement at UC Berkeley and is a founding member of BAGELS (Bay Area Gastronomical Entertainment Lawyers Society). He is presently chair of Media Action Marin that has successfully advocated for a new community media center and is on many other advisory boards.
